VILSECK, Germany — Dr. Elizabeth Fales, superintendent for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Europe East District, announced the selection of Ms. Lindsay Goldsmith as the new principal of Vilseck Elementary School.

Goldsmith brings 13 years of classroom and leadership experience and a deep passion for student-centered learning. Her career in education has been marked by versatility, commitment, and innovation across a variety of grade levels and instructional settings.

Goldsmith began her career as a first-grade teacher before expanding her expertise by teaching sixth-grade science and third grade. She later transitioned into the role of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher, where she focused on building inclusive classrooms and helping students leverage their language strengths to succeed academically. She has also served as ESOL chair, where she contributed to DoDEA-wide initiatives and professional leadership efforts.

“Ms. Goldsmith is a dynamic and mission-driven educator who brings a strong instructional background, a collaborative leadership style, and a clear dedication to student and staff success,” Fales said. “We’re excited to welcome her as the new leader of Vilseck Elementary School.”

Goldsmith has played a leading role in school improvement efforts, including serving as Continuous School Improvement Chair (CSI) for three years and contributing to the DoDEA Balanced Assessment System through specialized subcommittees. These roles have helped shape her vision for strategic planning and academic excellence.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, a Master’s in ESOL from Jones International University, and a Master’s in Special Education from the University of Maryland. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership in Education from Liberty University.

Outside of her professional work, Goldsmith is a proud wife and mother. She and her family are excited to join the Vilseck community. With gratitude and enthusiasm, she looks forward to working closely with students, educators, and families to cultivate a supportive and high-achieving school environment.
