What's Roaring this week?

Hello Vilseck Lions!

Although I haven’t made it to campus just yet, I’m already hearing roars of excitement from Vilseck! I’ll be joining you toward the end of September, and I’m truly looking forward to meeting everyone in person and becoming part of this incredible community.

A huge thank you to Ms. Kendra Hahn for her outstanding leadership as interim principal. Her dedication and support have helped ensure a smooth and strong start to the school year.

Speaking of strong starts—what a paws-itively great beginning it’s been! From all accounts, the first day of school was full of energy and joy. Our Pre-K Lions are about to wrap up their first week, adding even more excitement and smiles to the building. We also had a successful Open House, and we’re looking forward to the UPK Open House coming up soon on 25 September.

To top it off, VES kicked off the year with ROAR! 🎉
Students gathered for the first school-wide assembly of the year. Ms. Fischer, our amazing school counselor, led the way by introducing a new Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative built around the R.O.A.R. values:
🔹 Respect
🔹 Ownership
🔹 Attitude
🔹 Responsibility

Classes can now earn daily tokens by demonstrating these values throughout the school day. Once they collect enough tokens they’ll unlock some pretty awesome rewards.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible community, teachers, staff, and PTSA. Your passion and hard work make Vilseck the special place it is. 💙🦁🤍

Some fun PTSA events are also on the horizon:

  • 📚 Book Swap – 10 September 0900-1100 School Lobby
  • 🛼 Skatebash – 11 September 1700-1900 VES School Parking Lot
  • 🍿 Popcorn Friday – 26 September (orders due 9/25)

Mark your calendars, it’s going to be a grrr-eat month!

Thank you again for the warm welcome. I can’t wait to connect with you all soon.

With Lion Pride,
Dr. Goldsmith

Student Illness

Please do not send your  student to school if he or she is ill. Staying home to get proper rest, nutrition, and care benefits your child and the rest of our Vilseck Elementary School community. Please ensure that all phone numbers and email addresses are current in ASPEN. This is essential in case your child becomes ill and we need to reach you promptly for pickup.

WHEN SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD HOME?

  • Fever =>100 F
  • Actively vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Uncontrollable coughing
  • Illness with contagious symptoms
  • Students should remain home for 24 hours symptom free without the use of medication, or cleared by a medical provider.
  • HOW TO PREVENT SPREAD?
  • Wash your hands
  • Cover your cough
  • Stay at home
