What's Roaring this week?

Lion Families:

May has officially arrived, and with it comes sunshine, energy, and the excitement of the final weeks of school! It’s hard to believe how fast the year is flying by. As we step into the final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who supported our students throughout the entire month of April in honor of the Month of the Military Child. Your continued encouragement and presence made a lasting impact. A huge shoutout to Dr. Prater and Ms. VanWinkle for their hard work and dedication in planning meaningful events throughout this special month—thank you for making it so memorable!

Looking ahead, 4th and 5th grade students will take their summative math assessments on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of next week. Testing will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., so please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready to do their best.

🛒 Would you like to support our school? You can help just by shopping at the commissary! Simply place your receipt in the collection box by the door, and we can earn money to support school events throughout the year. Every receipt helps—thank you for your support!

🎉 Grade Level Spotlight: This week in science, our first grade students had a blast learning about air resistance and gravity by designing and testing their own parachutes. It was a fun and hands-on learning experience! Check out the pictures below to see their creativity in action!

We have just 5.5 weeks left until the school year comes to a close. Let’s continue to support one another and finish strong!

Accelerated Withdrawal

The Principal may authorize an accelerated withdrawal of a student who must withdraw from school 20 or less instructional days prior to the end of a semester, in accordance with Section 3.1.d, of DoDEA Administrative Instruction 1367.01, “High School Graduation Requirements and Policy,” [TBD]. Accelerated withdrawal will only be considered if the parent/sponsor presents PCS orders. The parent or sponsor must present verification of the date required for the student to depart from the school (e.g., PCS orders). All of the conditions of an accelerated study program outlined by the student’s teachers must be met prior to withdrawal in order for grades to be assigned and credit to be granted. Students who withdraw prior to the 20-day limitation of the accelerated withdrawal policy will receive “withdrawal” grades rather than final grades. In this case, the sponsor/parent should notify the school two weeks prior to the date of withdrawal.
