DoDEA Europe is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MoMC) across 64 schools in 8 countries, shining a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and courage of military-connected children. This month, our schools are hosting a wide range of events that include clap-ins, purple shirt days, interactive activities, performances by school bands, and more — all aimed at recognizing the vital role military children play in supporting their families and communities.

Vilseck Elementary School recently showcased the talents of its fifth grade students in an interactive and educational event: the Living Wax Museum. Guided by teachers Rosa Coss and Charlenda Sizemore, students researched and brought to life the stories of famous historical figures, culminating in a dynamic presentation for parents, teachers, and fellow students.

At Vilseck Elementary School, Information Specialist Ms. Vivian Bouza is transforming how students engage with libraries by integrating Minecraft Education into the Information Center. In this innovative project, 4th and 5th graders were tasked with designing and building virtual libraries in response to the question: “What makes a library special or unique compared to other spaces?”
