What's Roaring this week?

Lion Families:

We had a truly special evening on May 1st as we celebrated our annual Night of the Arts! This event beautifully showcased the talents of our students and the incredible work of our specialist teachers through music, movement, and visual art. Families enjoyed a traditional German dance, inspiring performances from our school choir, and vibrant art displays and student projects showcased all around campus.

We are so grateful to all the families who came out to support our students during this memorable night. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to our amazing specialist team for organizing such a meaningful event. Your work highlights the importance of the arts in education and the impact your classes have on our students.
👏🏾 Shoutout to Ms. Luke, Ms. Hall, Frau Bergosh, and Ms. Nichols for sharing your passion and talent with our school community!

This week, we also celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and our hearts are full! A huge thank-you to our incredible PTSA for showering our staff with love and support. We truly felt the appreciation!
💐 Special shoutouts to Ms. Huckleberry, Ms. Anders, Ms. Horgan, Ms. Ibanez, Ms. Leftwich, and Ms. Crabtree—your hard work made this week unforgettable. We also want to express our gratitude to all the families who donated items—your generosity means so much!

We do have a few important updates to share:

  • The Second and Third Grade field trip has been rescheduled for Friday, May 16. Please mark your calendars!
  • Color Run permission slips are due by Monday, May 12—don’t forget to send them in!

Accelerated Withdrawal

The Principal may authorize an accelerated withdrawal of a student who must withdraw from school 20 or less instructional days prior to the end of a semester, in accordance with Section 3.1.d, of DoDEA Administrative Instruction 1367.01, “High School Graduation Requirements and Policy,” [TBD]. Accelerated withdrawal will only be considered if the parent/sponsor presents PCS orders. The parent or sponsor must present verification of the date required for the student to depart from the school (e.g., PCS orders). All of the conditions of an accelerated study program outlined by the student’s teachers must be met prior to withdrawal in order for grades to be assigned and credit to be granted. Students who withdraw prior to the 20-day limitation of the accelerated withdrawal policy will receive “withdrawal” grades rather than final grades. In this case, the sponsor/parent should notify the school two weeks prior to the date of withdrawal.
